Self-Paced Virtual Training (available starting October 2021):

This training is delivered via videos, online lectures, online classes, live classes (on your schedule), and live meetings for Q&A and feedback.

Our virtual training is delivered via our online learning platform. You will receive access to the training in a step-by-step format and material that you can download and print. This material is self-paced and available to you 24/7. Throughout the program, there are open book quizzes to check for understanding.

During this training, you will be submitting homework and recordings. You will receive feedback on all materials/videos turned in. You will also receive 4 Q&A sessions (these will be live and recorded if you cannot make the live session) to ask questions about the material, receive mentoring or to get feedback. While this program is self-paced, materials are available to you for 1 year. Should you need additional time to complete the program, there will be a $150/month charge to continue to have access to the course for up to six additional months. All assignments and homework must be turned in within 18 months for a certificate.**

Tuition includes access to 10 virtual yoga classes through our studio. You will receive instructions on accessing these classes once you have paid tuition. Tuition does not include books from a reading list to be sent to you upon sign up. Tuition is not refundable - no exceptions.

Virtual Program Admission

All yogis must complete an application for consideration into the program. This application is meant to get to know you better. Once your application is complete, we will conduct a phone "interview" to answer any questions that you have. After the interview, we will email you a link to purchase your program.

This option is 100% in person in our studio. You will attend training in a "classroom" environment, receive live coaching, receive printed materials, and interact with other students and teachers. You will also be able to get experience right away teaching live classes in our studio as part of training. All program dates must be completed for a certificate of completion.

Program Fees for In Studio In Person Option

If needed, make-up hours require an additional fee of $75/hour.

To begin the process, please contact grace@awakenedyogastudio.com to request an application. We will also conduct a phone or in person interview to get to know you better. Upon acceptance, you will be given instructions for payment. Tuition includes unlimited yoga classes during the training through the last weekend of the training as well as all printed materials. Tuition does not include required reading materials - a reading list will be provided approximately two weeks before training begins. A 50% refund will be issued in the event of a student's withdrawal before October 1, 2021. Due to financial commitments made by the program, no refunds will be issued after October 1, 2021. No exceptions.

You've been practicing yoga for some time now. It has made a positive impact in your life and you want to share that with others. You may be at a point in your practice where you want more in depth information about yoga.

Whatever your reason, you're ready for the next step in your practice.

Our teacher training program will give you the skills you need to lead a yoga class and provide you with the opportunity to study poses and the yoga practice in depth.

This yoga training is focused on the vinyasa style of yoga. Participants should have a minimum of one year of yoga practice and be familiar with vinyasa flow. 100% commitment is required, and attendance at all in person sessions is required. We are proud to be a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School (RYS).

Mini Masterclass

Program Curriculum

Program curriculum includes:

Knowledge to thoughtfully and safely sequence a yoga class
Skills to motivate and inspire your students
Insight into your own motivations and the ability to communicate this to your students
Hands-on adjustment skills
In-depth study of yoga poses and proper, safe alignment and modifications
Basic anatomy and the benefits of yoga to our bodies
Theory and practice of pranayama
Yoga philosophy and history
The business of yoga and becoming a teacher in your community

The program requires reading and homework assignments, regular yoga practice, and teaching internship at the studio (or other approved studio).

A typical training day begins with discussion followed by yoga practice, lectures, small group activity, and practice teaching. You will have ample breaks for meals and personal time for reflection or individual work.

An application and non-refundable application fee of $75 (to be applied to your tuition) is also required.

No studios in Sugar Land have trained more teachers or for longer! We are very proud of our graduates and their ability to quickly get teaching jobs locally and all around the city.

Our program can be completed 100% on weekends and evenings. We have the perfect schedule for working yogis and for parents. Parts of the program are self-paced so that it fits into your schedule.

For our In Studio In Person option, you will get experience right away! All of our teacher training students co-teach public classes (along with a lot of practice teaching during the program) after completing the weekend intensives. You will feel confident to lead a class upon graduating the program.

We focus on the whole yogi - a great yoga teacher goes beyond "right foot forward" - in this program, you will tap into what brought you to yoga in the first place, what you love about this practice, what makes you individual and powerful and then share that with your students making you a well sought-after teacher.

**Note that if you are completing this program with the self-paced virtual option, you must sign up no later than December 31, 2021 and complete the program no later than December 31, 2022 to be eligible to apply for the 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (200 RYT) designation from Yoga Alliance.
